Song Spotlight - "David and Goliath"

You come to me with a sword, a spear, and a javelin - but I come to you in the name of HASHEM, Master of Legions [I Samuel 17:45] ... for it is not by sword and spear that HASHEM saves ... [I Samuel 17:47]

אתה בא אלי בחרב ובחנית ובכחידון ואנוכי בא אליך בשם ה' צבאות [שמואל א יז:מה] ... כי לא בחרב ובחנית יהושיע ה' ... [שמואל א יז:מז]א

Yup, that's David chatting with Goliath right before he pops an ancient cap in Goliath's skull. And then he chops off Goliath's head. And knowing the conquerer David turns out to be as king, you can understand that Miriam and I were both a tiny bit surprised to see this text in this particular part of the Bible. I don't mean to stereotype anyone, but it's as though David is one part staunch pacifist and 100 parts teenage boy. Weird, no? We thought so. We had to turn it into a song.

So Miriam began writing it a while back, and with a bit of inspiration from me we turned it into an anti-war song. We're proud to note that we made it available to the public yesterday.

It's a really fun dance-rock song that (for all you recording AND grocery enthusiasts) is arranged almost entirely of organic elements, and even includes an instrumental battle between David (that's Miriam on lead guitar) and Goliath (that's me on bass guitar).
